Selling Solar Panel Electricity

The diagram below illustrates the flow of electricity to and from an ECO house fitted with solar panels. The solar panels are connected to what's known as a grid tie inverter which converts the solar electricity so it's compatible and synchronized with the grid. The top export meter is the one that tells EDF how much to pay you and the bottom one is the normal one. Because you're connected at the same point you'll probably be using your own electricity but with the knowledge that EDF are paying you for the pleasure!
